An airbrush mask for the leading-edge de-icing boots of the tail surfaces of the B-24D/J Liberator in 1:32 scale by MH models, for spraying the black rubber boots cleanly. The mask is cut for the Hobby Boss kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A specialized self-adhesive mask for cleanly spraying the dark rubber de-icing boots on the leading edges of the tail surfaces of the American Consolidated B-24 Liberator heavy bomber (the D/J versions) in the large 1:32 scale. The mask follows the shape of the de-icing boots exactly, so once it is applied and the matte black is sprayed you get a sharply bounded strip with no laborious masking by hand with tape.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was one of the most widespread American four-engine bombers of the Second World War. The leading edges of the wings and tail surfaces were protected by rubber de-icing boots, which on a model are usually sprayed matte black and form a prominent visual feature.
Apply the mask to a dry base coat and press the edges down carefully so that no paint creeps under. Spray thin coats of matte black and remove the mask while the finish has only just set. The transition can then be gently unified with weathering.
This is a standalone mask. The model, the paints and an airbrush are not included in the package.
