A large sheet for the Tomcat fighter in the A version. Six machines in two worlds: Iranian aircraft from 1978 to 2003 and a pair of American aggressors from Fallon.
Responsibility details are not available.
This carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing stayed almost exclusively American for its whole career. Its only foreign customer was Iran, which took the machines over while still under the empire in the second half of the 1970s. That is precisely why two very different chapters of the same type meet on this sheet.
Four variants belong to Iranian aircraft. The oldest carries the insignia of a squadron of 1978, the others capture the same airframes after the change of regime, including a desert camouflage as well as the later gray and blue finishes of the 1990s and of 2003. The remaining pair shows American machines of a training center from Fallon air base: one in blue-gray, the other in a sand and green finish, of the kind worn by aircraft playing the role of the adversary in training.
In the package there is only the printed sheet. The kit, the paints and the varnish are not part of it. With the Iranian machines it also pays to check the form of the national insignia for the period in question, because they changed during the career of the type.
