The package contains masking templates for spraying the glazed surfaces, not a plastic model. The shapes of the templates are based on the early cockpit of the Vought F4U-1 with greenhouse glazing from the Tamiya kit. The words double-sided in the name refer to the version for the outer and the inner side of the canopy, so the framing looks convincing even when you look into the cockpit of a finished model.
The Vought F4U-1 was an American carrier fighter with a gull wing and a massive radial engine. The earliest production machines had a tall cockpit whose canopy was divided by a dense network of narrow bars. That is where the nickname birdcage comes from. In 1:32 scale this network of frames is especially conspicuous and it decides whether a finished Corsair looks convincing.
