A decal sheet with markings for the American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:32 scale, the second part of a series of marking sets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-51D Mustang is among the best known fighters of the Second World War. The teardrop canopy gave it a view in all directions and its great range made it an escort machine for long-range raids. That is exactly why there is so much to see on it: striking recognition stripes, color-coded parts of the engine cowling and pilots' personal markings. In 1:32 scale these details are legible at first glance, so the overall impression of the model rests on the quality of the markings.
The sheet carries markings for the P-51D in 1:32 scale and is the second part of a series, so it can be combined with further sheets from the same series. Which particular machines it contains and which kit it was prepared for are given in the enclosed instructions; in a large scale it is worth checking that in advance, because the dimensions of the motifs have to fit the particular model.
First give the area under the decal a coat of gloss varnish; on a matte surface silvering appears under the film. Cut the motif out close to its edge, soak it in water for a few seconds and let it rest until it will slide off the backing. Seat it, blot the excess water with soft paper and use a decal softener so that the film settles onto rivets and panel lines. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can be soaked later.
The package contains the decal sheet. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
