Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted command figures of the Prussian Landwehr of the Napoleonic Wars in 1:32 scale. It rounds out the rank-and-file Landwehr sets with officers, standard bearers and drummers. In units raised from called-up civilians the command carries particular weight: it is exactly what shows that this is a military formation and not a crowd of armed men. The large scale gives the figure room for painting work.
The Landwehr was raised in Prussia in 1813, when the regular army was not allowed to exceed a permitted number of men. Its officers often came from the ranks of the local nobility and officialdom, and their equipment was noticeably better than that of the rank and file, who wore a plain coat and a cap with a cross. That difference between commander and private soldier is clearly visible on the figures and can be put to work in the painting.
Wash the figures first in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Grade the shadows and highlights on the command figures more carefully than on the rank and file, and add the small items such as sashes and braid.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
