An accessory set of outboard wing pylons for the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II in 1:32 scale from Reskit, in the form matching the machines of the US Air Force. It is not an aircraft kit, but a replacement part for a model under construction. The name gives the versions F-4C, F-4D, F-4E and F-4G for the set.

The real subject

The Phantom served with the US Air Force and with the US Navy, and despite the identical silhouette the machines of the two arms differed in many details. The wing pylons are among them: differently resolved brackets, different equipment and different fittings for the stores carried. The outboard pair as a rule carried a lighter load than the inboard one, but with the later versions specialized equipment as well - the F-4G Wild Weasel was a machine intended for the suppression of air defenses and its fit differed distinctly from the early versions. In 1:32 scale such details are not lost and it is worth resolving them with a separate set.

• Check the position, the angle and the symmetry of both sides dry, and only then glue.
• Level the mating surface on the wing so that the pylon seats over its whole area.
• Wash and degrease the surface before painting, then apply the primer.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the part and apply only a small amount.
