An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Vought F4U-4 Corsair in the large 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers a finely rendered cockpit and radial engine, a faithful propeller, folding wings, two drop tanks and complete armament. Clear parts for the canopy, the engine cowling and the instrument panel are included.
The Vought F4U Corsair was among the most successful American carrier fighters and you recognize it by its pronounced inverted gull wing. The F4U-4 version was a later, more powerful variant with a revised powerplant and a redesigned nose. The Corsair served from the Second World War all the way to the Korean War and is one of the icons of carrier aviation.
In the large 1:32 scale it pays to assemble and paint the cockpit and the radial engine before you close the fuselage and the cowling. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings spread or folded. Finish and paint the drop tanks and the armament separately. Use thin cement for plastic, treat the surface with a primer and apply the paint with an airbrush; mask the canopy glazing beforehand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
