This plastic kit in 1:35 scale from IBG represents the French field gun of 1897 pattern in 75 mm caliber. The model is supplied as an injection-molded kit to be assembled and painted and is a rewarding subject for dioramas with period equipment and figures.
The 75 mm gun of 1897 pattern, nicknamed the French seventy-five, was among the first modern quick-firing field guns with a hydro-pneumatic recoil system, which absorbed the recoil and allowed quick, accurate fire without the need to re-aim. It became the mainstay of French artillery in the First World War and served, in modified forms, later as well.
Use thin modeling cement for plastic on the joints. It is advisable to assemble and clean up the carriage and the trail before painting. A primer is recommended, with the main shade applied by airbrush and the detail brought out at the end with a wash and a dry brush for a worn effect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
