RAF mechanic in India with an elephant and a mahout is a resin set of two figures and an elephant in 1:48 scale from CMK for striking dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
This unusual resin set in 1:48 scale from CMK holds a figure of an Asian elephant, a mahout seated on its back and a standing figure of an RAF ground mechanic. Two figures and an elephant in all. The set serves to bring aviation dioramas from the India-Burma theater of World War II to life.
In India and Burma, elephants were commonly used during World War II to tow aircraft and move heavy loads in terrain where machinery failed. Pairing a member of RAF ground personnel with a working elephant and its mahout is therefore a historically documented and rewarding subject for a diorama.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The elephant calls for careful painting of the skin with transitions and the folds brought out; paint the mechanic's uniform and the mahout's clothing separately. It is worth adding a base with terrain.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
