A plastic detail weapon set from the AR-15/M16/M4 range from Trumpeter in 1:35 scale. The set contains several pieces of the compact XM-177 E1/E2 carbine (also known as the Colt Commando) with its characteristic telescoping stock and long flash hider. It is not a model of a vehicle or a figure – it is an accessory with which you arm and enliven figures and dioramas.
Carefully separate and clean up the small parts, fit the joints and glue them with thin modeling cement. Paint the metal parts of the weapon with a dark steel or graphite color and the stocks and grips in shades of black or brown polymer; gentle lightening of the edges with dry-brushing pulls the detail out. Please distinguish this set from the variant with the more modern M4, M203 and M4A1 carbines.
For modelers of figures and dioramas, collectors of small arms in 1:35 scale and anyone interested in the equipment of American units of the Vietnam era.
