A figure of a standing cow cast in quality resin in 1:35 scale. An animal in a scene does what no machine can: it gives the scene calm and scale at the same time. A cow grazing by a hedge, or an animal startled beside a passing vehicle, creates the contrast on which a great many prize-winning dioramas rest.
Most of the ground campaigns of the Second World War in Europe ran across farming country. The Normandy lanes between banks, the Italian farmsteads and the estates of central Germany were inhabited and full of livestock, which stayed out on the pastures even while the fighting went on. Period photographs with vehicles in the middle of a grazing herd are not rare, and exactly for that reason an animal in a model does not look like a curiosity but like a documented element of the setting.
First clean the casting residues off the casting and degrease it, then apply a thin undercoat. Build the coat from a middle color toward lightened areas along the back and darker flanks, and leave the transitions blended. Draw the piebald markings only after the base coat has dried, and do not make the edges of the patches completely sharp. Leave the eyes, the muzzle and the hooves in a glossier shade; they give the animal life.
The animal is supplied as a casting without paintwork; paints and glue have to be obtained separately.
