About product

German oil drums - WWII (1:35, Royal Model)

This is a diorama accessory set in 1:35 scale from the Italian maker Royal Model. It is not a model of a vehicle but a set of German oil and fuel drums of the Second World War period, with photo-etched parts added. The drums will bring a rear area, a fuel dump or a scene beside a vehicle to life.

Contents and use

  • Cast resin drums of the 200 liter drum type
  • Photo-etched parts for fine details (caps, hoops, reinforcements)
  • Suitable for dioramas, for the beds of vehicles and alongside figures

Building tips

  • Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks
  • Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and bend the photo-etched sheet over an edge
  • Prime the drums and bring out the weathering with washes and pigments (rust, grease, scuffs)

Who it is for

  • Builders of Second World War dioramas
  • Modelers who want to fill a scene of a German rear area realistically

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, in resin and photo-etched sheet. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is a diorama set of German drums of the Second World War, that is, an accessory to bring a scene, the bed of a vehicle or a rear area to life.

The drums are cast in resin and completed with photo-etched parts for fine detail. Glue the resin with super glue.

Apply a primer and a base color, then bring out the weathering with washes and pigments. Traces of rust, grease and scuffs will then stand out.
