The follow-up photo-etched set for the Jagdtiger 1:35 from Royal Model adds a second helping of metal details for this heavy tank destroyer.

The manufacturer divided the equipment for this giant machine into two packages, and this is the later one. It brings further thin parts that come into their own on a large vehicle wherever a plastic mold necessarily simplified things. Both parts can be put together, but it works just as well to use this one alone; the basic model is bought separately.
The designers took the hull of a heavy tank, lengthened it and set a fixed superstructure with a 12.8 cm gun on it. The result was the most powerful series-built anti-tank weapon of the war, but also a machine that barely fitted on a bridge and whose engine was underpowered for such a weight. The traverse of the gun was minimal, so aiming to the side meant turning the whole vehicle. Only a handful were built and most were destroyed by their own crews once the fuel ran out.
Mask the transition between the metal and the plastic with a thin layer of putty or a texture paste. The bolts and rivets on the etched metal stand out once a dark shade is run into the recesses. Apply pigments on the running gear sparingly and rather in a band above it, where the dust settled most.
The package holds metal parts, not a plastic kit or modeling chemicals.
