An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Waffenträger weapons carrier with the 8.8 cm PaK 43 anti-tank gun in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The box holds the hull parts, individual link tracks, a turned metal gun barrel and a photo-etched fret; follow the instructions for the exact number of parts.
The Waffenträger was a German concept for a light, mobile carrier of the heavy 8.8 cm PaK 43 anti-tank gun from the end of the Second World War. The design by the Ardelt and Krupp companies drew on elements of light chassis and on deliberately minimal armor, in order to keep the weight low and the mobility high. The vehicle was to make it possible to move a powerful anti-tank weapon quickly around the battlefield.
The individual link tracks and the fitting of the open mounting with the gun call for patience; finish the interior and the running gear before the final assembly. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, even the surface out with a primer and lay the paint down with an airbrush. The open structure is rewarding for toning with washes and for dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
