1:35 MH-60S - folded main rotor with blade fold restraint systems (3D Printed) is a printed replacement for the main rotor in the folded position, including the restraints.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set made by 3D printing that replaces the main rotor on a model of the MH-60S shipboard helicopter in 1:35 scale. The rotor is rendered in the folded position, that is, the way the machine looks parked in a ship's hangar, and the set adds the struts that restrain the blades by the tail boom. Printing can manage the geometry of the rotor head, the angled blade hinges and the thin dampers that injection-molded plastic has to simplify. It is not a model of the helicopter; it is an addition.
The MH-60S is an American shipboard helicopter created by combining the airframe of the army Black Hawk with the powerplant and rotor system of the naval Seahawk family. It serves for vertical replenishment of ships, for rescuing crews, for mine countermeasures and for supporting special forces. Precisely because it is parked on cramped decks, it has a folding tail boom and folding rotor blades, which are secured with restraints.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the face with a file or a scalpel; pliers would snap the thin section. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting so that the print texture does not show through. Fit the blades dry and check the angle between them before the glue hardens.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
