The photo-etched detail set 1:35 MLRS from the Italian maker Royal Model refines a model of the American rocket launcher M270. The vehicle itself the modeler acquires separately.

The Italian brand Royal Model has prepared this item as an addition to a kit of the tracked rocket launcher M270. It adds thin sheet features that cannot be produced in an injection mold: grilles, brackets, boarding steps and other small items with which the model gets a thickness correct to scale.
The American self-propelled rocket launcher entered service in the first half of the nineteen-eighties. It was built on an extended tracked chassis derived from the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, so that it could keep pace with armored formations. The revolving launcher structure carries two interchangeable pods of rockets of 227 mm caliber; once a salvo has been fired off, the crew exchanges the pods for loaded ones and moves on before the enemy can locate them. In combat the machine became famous in 1991 in the Persian Gulf, where the area effect of its salvo earned it the nickname steel rain.
Lead the bends over the edge of a metal ruler and hold the components with flat-jawed tweezers. The features hold best on cyanoacrylate glue dosed with a pin. A primer is a necessity here: on a smooth surface the coat would otherwise peel off during handling alone.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
