This is a photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale. It holds parts for refining the turret of the Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzer, that is fine features of the turret shell, brackets, grilles and fittings. It is not a vehicle model but an accessory that replaces the simplified plastic pieces with more faithful photo-etch.
The Msta-S is a Russian self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm caliber on a tracked chassis, serving as a modern artillery system for fire support. Its large rotating turret carries the barrel and the fighting equipment and is a visually prominent part of the vehicle, on which fine details show to advantage.
The photo-etched parts are separated from the fret, shaped with tweezers and glued with super glue. The fine features are installed on the turret step by step during the build. For a three-dimensional look, careful painting and weathering that brings out texture and use are recommended.
