The Royal Model 1:35 Panzer IV 70/A photo-etched set refines the shapes of the German tank destroyer where injection-molded plastic runs up against its limits. The set is intended for the Dragon kit.

This set from the Italian brand Royal Model adds to a kit of the German Panzer IV 70/A tank destroyer the fine sheet-metal elements that will not fit into an injection mold. It does not replace the kit but complements it where a molded part looks too massive. It follows the dimensions of the Dragon kit.
The Panzer IV 70/A came about in the autumn of 1944 as an emergency solution. The long 7.5 cm anti-tank gun with a barrel 70 calibers long had to be got into a vehicle quickly, so the designers built it into a tall armored superstructure set on an unchanged Panzer IV chassis. The result was noticeably taller and overloaded at the front axle compared with the tank destroyer built in parallel at another plant. Only a few hundred came off the line by the end of the war, so it is a type seen in display cases considerably less often than the classic Panzer IV.
First free the sheet-metal parts of grease from your fingers, otherwise the paint holds badly. Make the bends over a metal ruler or in a bending tool, so that the edge stays crisp and straight. Try the joints dry before applying cyanoacrylate glue. Once the primer is sprayed on, the edges of the superstructure will come out with a dry brush and a flowing shade into the corners.
The base kit, paints and glue are not supplied with this item.
