MiniArt 1:35 Polish Tank Crew: a set of injection-molded plastic figures of a Polish tank crew of the Second World War, intended to complete a model or a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of figures in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt. It is not a vehicle model but an accessory: figures of Polish army tank crewmen in period coveralls and protective helmets. The figures are injection-molded in plastic and come unassembled on the sprue; they are made up of several parts, the torso, the limbs and the head, so during the build their stance and the way they turn can be adjusted slightly to suit a particular scene.
Polish armored units entered the war in 1939 mainly with 7TP light tanks and with TK and TKS tankettes. The crews worked in the cramped space of fighting vehicles, wore one-piece coveralls and a protective helmet, and the tank commander often watched his surroundings from an open turret hatch. Figures of this type usually capture poses just like those and give the finished model both scale and a story, as a model with its crew reads differently from an empty vehicle.
Glue the figures with thin cement for plastic and fill the seams at the shoulders and the neck carefully, because that is where the join shows most once assembled. Lay down a primer before painting so that the paint holds. Uniforms and coveralls come out best in acrylic applied in layers, with the shadows and highlights brought out by oil paints or by a wash that runs into the folds of the fabric. Leave the faces until last and work with heavily thinned paint in thin coats; dry-brushing on the edges of the helmet and the boots adds the wear.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
