A damaged monument in 1:35: the Russia monument ruin, a diorama accessory from the brand Royal Model of Italy.
Responsibility details are not available.
A damaged monument worked as a separate accessory to a tableau in 1:35. It belongs among the features that give a diorama a story: a reminder of past glory in the middle of fresh destruction. Royal Model keeps it in the line intended for building scenes, not among kits of equipment.
Soviet towns and villages were literally strewn with monuments: they stood on squares, in front of schools and in parks and served as a fixed point in the terrain. During the fighting on the eastern front they became reference points for artillery and frequent targets. A broken plinth with the wreckage of a statue therefore captures the atmosphere of the years 1941 to 1945 exactly. A monument tends to be the point in a tableau that the viewer's eye slides to first, so do not hide it in a corner of the base.
Stone surfaces come across best when you cover the base with several thin layers of close gray tones instead of one even coat. Then draw the fractures and the scuffed edges out with a lighter shade. Lead a dark wash into the folds, add a hint of moss on the north side and scatter small fragments at the foot, so that it is apparent where part of the structure broke away.
The goods are without a surface finish: the shades, the wash and the greenery the modeler chooses according to the season intended.
