This is a detail photo-etched set from the Polish maker Aber for models of the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in 1:35 scale. The package contains fine parts of etched brass sheet that replace coarser plastic elements, among them the engine deck grilles, the fenders, the tool clamps and hull fittings. Note: this is not a tank model but a metal accessory for a plastic kit you have already bought.
The T-34/85 was the later and more heavily armed version of the legendary Soviet T-34 medium tank. It carried a larger three-man turret with an 85 mm gun, which improved its ability to fight the later German tanks. The T-34/85 became one of the most heavily produced tanks of the Second World War and served long after it.
Photo-etched parts are cut off with a sharp knife or special scissors, bent over a bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. The fine grilles over the engine and the thin fenders refine the look of the hull markedly compared with plastic. Degrease and prime the metal before painting.
