This is a pair of turned metal barrels for the Soviet 7.62 mm DT tank machine gun in 1:35 scale. It is neither a model nor a vehicle kit but a precise accessory. Turned metal faithfully captures the perforated cooling jacket and the muzzle, which are hard to mold in plastic without seams. The set is intended for models of Soviet Second World War armor on which this machine gun was mounted.
The DT machine gun (Degtyarev tankovy) was the standard tank version of the DP infantry machine gun. It was fitted in the hull and turret mounts of Soviet tanks and armored vehicles, from light types up to the medium T-34 and heavy machines. Its distinctive feature is the cylindrical perforated cooling jacket of the barrel.
The metal barrels are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend cleaning up the original plastic collar and fitting the barrel so that it lines up with the mount. Metal takes fine sanding and polishing and holds the crisp edge of the muzzle better than plastic.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. The base vehicle kit is not included in the package.
