1:35 SH-60B/F, HH-60H, MH-60S - blade fold restraint system (3D Printed) is a set of printed struts that hold the folded rotor blades on the deck of a ship. It is an accessory, not a helicopter model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of parts made by 3D printing for models of the carrier-based helicopters of the Seahawk family in 1:35 scale. It contains the struts and fittings with which the folded main rotor blades are secured on the deck of a ship so they do not move in gusts of wind. The printing captures even a thin rod and the eye of a link, which in injection-molded plastic would have to be simplified. The set is not a model of the helicopter, it is an accessory for an existing kit.
The carrier-based helicopters of the Seahawk family grew out of the army Black Hawk for service on ships. Folding both the rotor blades and the tail boom is essential on them: the hangar of a frigate or a destroyer is cramped and the machine would not otherwise fit into it. The folded blades are drawn in toward the boom and fixed with struts that are part of the aircraft's equipment. It is exactly those that give a parked machine the characteristic silhouette familiar to anyone who has seen a helicopter on the stern of a ship.
The 3D-printed parts are held on thin supports. Clip them off as close to the part as possible and level the remainder with a file or a scalpel, not with nippers, which would break the thin profile. They are glued with super glue. Apply a primer before painting, otherwise the surface of the print will show through. Fit the struts only once the blades are in place, so the length matches their actual position.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
