An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-axle covered Teplushka railway wagon in 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt. It is a detailed kit with photo-etched parts; the doors and the windows can be built open or closed, and the model can be assembled for either European or Russian track gauge. A section of track and a decal sheet with several marking options are usually included; the exact contents are not stated here.
The Teplushka came about by converting an ordinary covered freight wagon into a heated transport car. Inside it was given a stove, bunks and ventilation so that it could carry soldiers, personnel or livestock in cold weather. These wagons were used in Russia and the Soviet Union for decades and became a typical feature of military and civilian transports alike. The model serves well as an addition to railway and station dioramas with equipment in 1:35 scale.
Cut the parts from the sprues and bond them with liquid cement for plastic, and the fine photo-etched items with super glue. Paint the interior with its fittings and bring it out before closing the body of the wagon. Bring out the wooden planking with the technique of colored filters and washes, and let the running gear and the underside age with pigments for an effect of dust and rust. Dirty the wheels and the axles according to the setting in which you place the wagon in a scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
