The finishing part of the photo-etched set for the StuG IV late version 1:35 from Royal Model, following on from the first package. Target kit: Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
Where the first package left off, this one carries on. It adds the remaining fine parts for the late form of the assault gun built on the Panzer IV chassis and assumes that you already have the model under construction. It can also be used on its own if you only care about selected areas of the vehicle. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
The machines went mainly to the anti-tank battalions of infantry divisions, which they supplied with armored firepower without the demands of training tank crews. Production ran until the spring months of 1945 and the vehicles fought from Italy to the Baltic. Because they were made at a time of shortage of raw materials, their appearance was quickly simplified and two examples from the same month could look different. For a modeler that is rather an advantage; there is a lot of room for a composition of your own. You can choose a mud-caked machine from an autumn campaign or a vehicle left standing in the ruins of a town.
First try offering the parts up dry and only then reach for the glue, as metal cannot be slid about like plastic. Glue longer strips at one point first, align them and then finish the rest. A fine veil of base color sprayed from a greater distance takes care of the final unification of the surface.
It is supplied as a set of metal parts without a plastic model and without modeling chemicals.
