1:35 Tree Trunks is a resin set of broken trunks and trunk stubs of trees in 1:35 scale for building a diorama.

The set brings castings of damaged trunks and stubs, which give a scene an instantly legible setting. The Italian brand Royal Model makes them and casts them in polyurethane resin, so the bark has a sharp marking and the break of the wood looks splintered, not smoothed over like an impression in injection-molded plastic. The castings are raw and ready to be set into a base of your own.
A wooded battlefield of the Second World War was transformed by artillery fire within a few hours. Splinters and the blast wave broke trunks at a height of several meters and bare pointed projecting remnants were left of dense growth. Photographs from the Hürtgen Forest and from the slopes of the Ardennes alike know such a picture, and that is exactly why broken trees appear so often in dioramas from the Western as well as the Eastern Front.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the remnants of mold release agent from the mold disappear. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with protection of the airways. Cyanoacrylate holds the joints; ordinary glue for plastic does not work here. After a filler primer the marking of the bark comes out with a dry brush in a lighter tone and by darkening the cracks with a dark glaze.
The goods are supplied as a raw casting, without a finish and without a baseboard.
