Takom 2087 M3 Lee of late production is a 1:35 plastic kit of the American medium tank with a 75 mm gun in the hull and a 37 mm one in the turret.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the American medium tank as it was in the late production batch. The box holds the longer gun of seventy-five millimeters caliber for the hull as well as the gun of thirty-seven millimeters caliber for the turret. The side access door and the turret hatch are separate parts, so they can be built open and manned with figures. A smaller photo-etched sheet for the engine grille, brackets and light guards is included. The tracks are split into links and straight runs, a compromise between a one-piece track and assembling link by link. The decals offer four options, all in a uniform olive shade.
The M3 was a stopgap but quick solution: the United States needed to get a tank with a gun of seventy-five millimeters caliber into the field before a rotating turret that could carry it was ready. The gun therefore went into the right-hand side of the hull with limited traverse, and only the thirty-seven fitted into the turret. The silhouette was tall and the main weapon had a narrow field of fire, but the vehicle was reliable and quick to build. It fought in North Africa with British units, in the Far East and in the Soviet army.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you fit the fenders. Assemble the split tracks on a flat surface and let the straight runs dry in shape. If you open the door, count on the fact that the inside of the model is not worked out and will need at least to be suggested or the opening filled with a figure. You can bring the uniform olive finish alive by lightening the horizontal surfaces and drawing a darker glaze into the rivets.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
