The set from Quinta Studio brings a photorealistic interior of the Soviet ZIL-131 off-road truck in 1:35 scale. At its core are 3D-printed, pre-painted parts (the instrument panel, the consoles, the seats) printed on backing decal paper – they go on like a decal, but they have real three-dimensional 3D relief, so the cab gains depth and modeling with no painting. The words with resin parts mean that the package also holds resin parts. This is not a model – it is an accessory intended for one specific Zvezda kit, it need not fit another kit and the kit itself is not included in the package.
The ZIL-131 is a Soviet off-road truck with 6x6 drive, built by the ZIL works from the 1960s. It was powered by a gasoline V8 and the vehicle became one of the most widespread general-purpose trucks of the Soviet army and of the civilian sector alike – it served as a load carrier, a tanker, a workshop and a special-purpose chassis. It stands out for its simplicity and its ability to get through rough terrain.
The pre-painted 3D parts are applied like decals – the backing is softened in water and the part is seated in place; do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, and unify the surface with a final coat of gloss varnish. The resin parts are washed free of the mold release agent before bonding, separated from the casting blocks and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The interior does not have to be painted, but precision in seating the parts is what counts.
Note: this is not a vehicle kit but a set of interior details. The base Zvezda kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
