Detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the British monitor HMS Roberts in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. It comes from a modern mold, and besides the plastic parts the box also contains photo-etched parts and a metal anchor chain. The hull can be built as a full hull or as a waterline version, and a display stand belongs to the model as well. The quality of the moldings is high, with a minimum of flash. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
HMS Roberts was a Royal Navy monitor of the World War II period, armed with heavy 381 mm guns in a twin turret. Monitors were shallow-draft vessels intended to bombard coastal targets; HMS Roberts saw action during the landings in the Mediterranean and in Normandy, where her guns supported the ground troops.
First decide whether you are building a full hull or a waterline version. Cut the photo-etched parts off the fret and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Paint the deck and the superstructures with an airbrush, and create the weathering with washes and drybrushing. Add the railings and the fine fittings only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
