This aftermarket part is a one-piece resin replacement barrel of the GIAT CCN120-26 120 mm smoothbore gun for a model of the French Leclerc main battle tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that replaces the barrel from the boxed kit. The casting has the correct profile, a clean surface and a precisely rendered muzzle, so gluing a split plastic barrel together falls away, and with it the laborious sanding of the mold seam.
The barrel is the most conspicuous element of any tank and even a small inaccuracy shows on it at once. A one-piece resin replacement ensures a perfectly straight shape with no seam and a faithful muzzle, which noticeably raises the overall impression of the model. The part is intended for a model of the Leclerc tank and its versions fitted with the CCN120-26 gun.
Wash the mold release agent residue off the barrel and separate it from the casting block. Sand the contact surface to the turret and glue the barrel on with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting lay down a primer; it is advisable to hollow the muzzle out slightly for an even more realistic look.
This is an accessory resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
