Turned metal barrels, MASTER 1:350 – armament of the Russian cruiser Varyag (1899). It is not a ship model but a set of barrels in 152, 75 and 47 mm calibers.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a ship model but a set of turned metal barrels in 1:350 scale from the Polish maker MASTER. The set holds twelve 152 mm barrels, twelve 75 mm barrels and eight 47 mm barrels. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from the kit with an accurate profile and a crisp muzzle, and they faithfully capture the numerous broadside battery typical of the protected cruisers of that period.
Varyag was a Russian protected cruiser completed in 1899. It became famous for the Battle of Chemulpo in 1904 at the start of the Russo-Japanese War, when after an unequal fight with a Japanese squadron it was scuttled by its own crew so that it would not fall into enemy hands. The courage of its crew became a legend.
Cut the tiny barrels off carefully and clean up the ends. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a metal primer. The muzzles are already drilled out, so you get a realistic view into the bore without laborious drilling of the plastic.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
