A photo-etched accessory for ship modelers, not a stand-alone model. The set brings fine brass parts for building and refining the twin mounts of the Type 96 light anti-aircraft gun of 25 mm caliber from the armament of Japanese warships of the Second World War.

The real subject

The Type 96 of 25 mm caliber was the standard Japanese light anti-aircraft gun. The twin mount was used on a number of ships alongside the more widespread triple version. The photo-etched parts capture the shield, the sight, the elevation handwheels and the structure of the mount, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage at this scale.

Usage tips

• Separate the small parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface.
• Make the bends over a photo-etch bender for sharp edges.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate or epoxy, in the smallest possible amount.
• Degrease before painting and use a primer for metal.
