A plastic kit of the Alfa Romeo Alfasud car in 1:43 scale from Heller. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Alfasud was the small family car with which Alfa Romeo entered the lower middle class at the start of the 1970s. It was built in a newly erected plant in the south of Italy, and that is where its name comes from. Technically it was a bold car: front-wheel drive and a low-mounted flat four allowed the center of gravity and the floor to be lowered, so the Alfasud became known for handling that was unusually good for its class. The engineer Rudolf Hruska took part in the design and the body was styled by the studio of Giorgetto Giugiaro.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit in 1:43 scale. The finished car measures around nine centimeters, so it belongs among the small models for a display case. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is glued with cement for polystyrene according to the enclosed instructions.
The angular body of the 1970s stands on sharp edges, so proceed carefully when sanding the seams, so that the edges are not rounded off. Apply the paint in thin coats; a single-color finish on a small car reveals every speck of dust, so it pays to work in a clean space and to let each coat dry thoroughly. Prepare the interior and the glazing before you close up the body.
The model suits collectors of European cars of the 1970s and modelers building a collection of the ordinary cars of their day, not just sports machines. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
