A plastic kit of the subsonic attack aircraft A-7D Corsair II in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is an injection-molded model in gray plastic with engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and clear canopy parts. The A-7D version is the land-based attack variant of the US Air Force with a more powerful engine and an internal cannon.
The Corsair II was created as a subsonic attack aircraft and became famous for its long range and its ability to carry a heavy load of weapons on a number of hardpoints. The A-7D version flew with the US Air Force and received a more accurate navigation and attack system, a stronger engine and a rotary cannon. It was committed from the turn of the 1960s and 1970s and became the backbone of the tactical attack force for many years.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints down. Plan the underwing stores and the tanks in advance. An airbrush suits the metal and camouflage finishes; washes and a dry brush will pick out the rivets and the panels, and a final matte varnish will even the surface out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
