This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It contains four short-range infrared-guided air-to-air missiles of the kind carried on wingtips and on the outer pylons. For modelers of modern aircraft this is armament that recurs across types: the set is intended for the F-4, Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16, F/A-18, Tornado and Gripen. The missile has thin control surfaces that an injection mold necessarily makes thicker, which is why even a layman can tell an accessory set. 3D printing manages both the sharp edge of the fins and the intricate seeker head.
The IRIS-T is a short-range air-to-air guided missile developed by a European consortium of states. It homes on the thermal emission of the target and is built so that it can also be launched at a target outside the forward hemisphere of the carrying aircraft. It replaced older missiles of the same category and is carried by a number of European types.
The set is for modelers of modern combat aircraft who are finishing off the external stores. The work is not difficult, it only calls for care when handling the thin surfaces.
It is not an aircraft model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
