1:72 Red jerseys (2 pcs), AERO 21A with AIM-54C Phoenix for F-14B/D (scene 1) is a printed set of two figures of ordnancemen, a trolley and a Phoenix missile.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set made by 3D printing for dioramas from the deck of American aircraft carriers in 1:72 scale. It contains two figures of ordnancemen in red jerseys, a transport trolley of the AERO 21A series and the long-range AIM-54C Phoenix missile, that is, the armament of the F-14 fighters. The scene captures the moment before the round is loaded onto the aircraft. Even in a small scale, printing holds the folds of the clothing and the thin fins of the missile. The set is not a model of an aircraft.
The AIM-54 Phoenix was an American air-to-air guided missile with an exceptionally long reach, developed solely for the F-14 Tomcat fighter and its powerful onboard radar. The pair could engage distant targets before they came near the ship's group, which was its main purpose. The AIM-54C version was the last development form, with more resistant guidance. Handling a round of that weight does not go without a trolley and several people.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the face with a scalpel. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Spray the jerseys in a saturated red over a light base. Paint the round differently depending on whether you are building a live or a training configuration, as the markings differ markedly between them.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
