Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman Hellcat carrier fighter in the British Fleet Air Arm Mk.II form, in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has engraved panel lines, a well worked out cockpit, a radial engine and the option of building the wings spread or folded for stowage aboard a carrier. Drop tanks and armament are usually included as well.
Hellcat Mk.II was the British name for the American Grumman carrier fighter supplied to the Royal Navy under the Lend-Lease program in the Second World War. It was a robust single-seat machine with a Pratt & Whitney radial engine, heavy armament and good resilience. The Fleet Air Arm deployed it from the Atlantic to the Far East.
Use liquid modeling cement for the joints of the plastic parts. Lay down a primer before painting; the British naval camouflage stands out when sprayed with an airbrush. Decide in advance whether you want the wings spread or folded. Fix the decals with a decal softener, and a final matte varnish will even the surface out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
