The open exhaust nozzle of the F-16 Fighting Falcon engine (F100-PW-229) in 1:48 scale from ReSkit. A 3D-printed resin detail set. The target kit is Kinetic.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set, not a stand-alone model. This 3D-printed resin open exhaust nozzle from ReSkit replaces the corresponding plastic part in the base kit of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in 1:48 scale. The F100-PW-229 engine version has a nozzle of a different shape than the older F100-PW-220.
The Kinetic kit serves as the base; it is bought separately.
The Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engine is among the more powerful powerplants of the F-16, known as the Increased Performance Engine. The exhaust nozzle of this version has a typical arrangement of petals that differs both from the General Electric nozzle and from the older F100 version. A faithful rendering of the rear end takes the realism of a model to a higher level.
Wash the print resin residue off the part, cut away the print support and sand it with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Pick out the inside of the nozzle with a dark wash and metal shades, and suggest heat staining on the outer skin according to how hard the aircraft was worked.
This is an add-on set for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
