A detailed open exhaust nozzle of the F110-GE-129 engine for the F-16 in 1:48 scale from Reskit. A resin accessory for refining a kit, not an airplane model. Intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. It reproduces the open exhaust nozzle of the General Electric F110-GE-129 engine of the F-16 fighter in 1:48 scale. Beware of confusion: the nozzle of the General Electric engine has a different structure and a different petal shape from the nozzle of the Pratt and Whitney engine, so the set is not to be confused with the version for the F100 power unit. The parts are cast in resin with fine detail on the petals and in the inner chamber and are rendered in the fully open position.
The target kit is Tamiya; that is bought separately.
The F110-GE-129 engine from General Electric powers a range of modern versions of the F-16. It can be told from the Pratt and Whitney power unit by, among other things, precisely this different shape of the exhaust nozzle, which is an important distinguishing mark for a faithful model.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); sand with protection for your airways. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush, so that the metal shades and the heat discoloration of the nozzle come out.
An accessory for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
