A detail set, not a standalone model. This 3D-printed resin open exhaust nozzle from Reskit replaces the plastic part in the base kit of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in 1:48 scale. It represents the version with the General Electric F110-GE-129 engine, whose nozzle differs significantly from the versions with Pratt & Whitney engines.
The product is intended for the Kinetic kit. That kit is purchased separately.
The General Electric F110-GE-129 is one of the main powerplants of later F-16s. Its exhaust nozzle has a different, longer arrangement of petals (the so-called turkey feathers) than the F100-series nozzles. Correctly identifying the engine version is essential for an accurate model, since the aircraft's tail reveals its powerplant type at a glance.
Wash the part to remove residual print resin, cut off the print support and sand it while protecting your airways. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Highlight the inside of the nozzle with a dark wash and metallic (burnt) shades; add subtle heat-discoloration gradients to the outer casing.
This is an accessory set for more advanced modelers. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
