A pair of GBU-10 Paveway I laser-guided bombs with the BSU-37/B fin and the BSU-3A/B wing in the rendition for slower carriers, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two bombs of the first generation of laser guidance, cast in resin for 1:48 scale. The combination of fin and wing block is given directly in the designation of the set, so it can be matched to a particular machine.
Laser guidance changed the air war at the end of the 1960s. What formerly took dozens of sorties, a single machine managed. The Paveway I was the first family of these kits: a head with a detector of the reflected beam was fitted to the front of an ordinary bomb and a wing block to the rear. The control worked in a full-deflection mode, with the control surfaces flipping from one extreme position to the other, so the bomb descended on a characteristic wavy path. The wing blocks differed according to which aircraft carried the weapon. The target was illuminated by an escorting machine or by an observer on the ground, so the success of a raid rested on the coordination of two crews.
First seat the body of the bomb on the pylon and let the glue cure properly, and only then glue on the small parts. The reverse order tends to end in a broken detail the moment you handle the stores. Before spraying, mask the front of the seeker head so that the lens stays clean and clear. The small scribed lines on the body stand out if you go over the surface with a weak dark filter once it has dried.
The set is purely an accessory and holds a pair of bombs.
