This piece is a separate accessory, not a model kit. Firma49 is a Czech brand that makes small accessories for modelers, figures and dioramas by SLA 3D printing. It represents the French MAT 49 submachine gun in 1:48 scale with the magazine in its normal (combat) position. Builders of more compact scenes will appreciate the smaller scale, while the print keeps a crispness that plastic does not offer.
The MAT 49 is a French 9 mm submachine gun produced from 1949 by the Manufacture d'Armes de Tulle. Its hallmark is the folding magazine, which could be swung forward under the barrel to make the weapon smaller for carrying. It served the French army for decades and was deployed in Indochina and Algeria among other places. Here the weapon is in the combat position with the magazine vertical.
Given the smaller scale, work especially carefully. Cut the part off the print supports with a sharp knife, clean it up with respiratory protection and glue it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A light primer evens the surface out before painting with a brush or an airbrush. The small sections are fragile.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unmounted, as a 3D-printed resin part. Glue, paints and a figure are not included in the package.
