Spitfire Mk.I / Mk.II / Mk.Va / Mk.Vb – landing gear legs (3D print) is a detail accessory from Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a set of replacement landing gear parts for Eduard Spitfire kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail set, not an aircraft model. The set contains 3D-printed landing gear legs and landing gear bay doors for models of the Supermarine Spitfire in the early Mk.I, Mk.II, Mk.Va and Mk.Vb versions in 1:48 scale. The parts are intended as a direct replacement for the plastic parts from the matching Eduard kits. To build the aircraft itself you therefore need the base plastic kit; this set only refines it.
On fighter models the landing gear legs are among the most exposed parts – they are clearly visible, they carry the whole weight of the model, and in injection-molded plastic it is usually impossible to capture fine detail on them such as brake line runs, toothed rings, stiffeners or delicate lightening shapes. Direct 3D printing makes it possible to reproduce precisely those details with a crispness that an ordinary mold cannot reach. The bay doors are also of a more realistic thickness than the plastic original.
For modelers who build the Spitfire in 1:48 scale and want to take the quality of the landing gear beyond the plastic parts from the kit. Working with printed parts calls for a little experience with a sharp knife, super glue and sanding, but using the set itself is simple – it is a one-for-one replacement.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model. It does not include the plastic kit, paints or glue. Use respiratory protection when sanding printed parts and work with extraction or wet.
