A detailed 3D-printed resin auxiliary tank set, not an aircraft model. The set represents an underwing auxiliary fuel tank PTB-800 for the Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The tank is carried on the underwing pylons and extends the aircraft's range. 3D printing captures the smooth shape and fine details better than a split plastic molding, and there is no seam to clean up. The set is made by the Ukrainian manufacturer Reskit.

Use and fitting

• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap — this removes residual print resin.
• Cut off the print supports with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw; do not snap them off.
• Gently sand down the marks left by the supports — always protect your airways, ideally sanding wet.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue); plastic cement does not bond to resin.
• Attach the tank to the corresponding underwing pylon; make sure it hangs vertically and the pair is symmetrical.

Painting tips

Apply a primer, then paint according to the color scheme of the specific aircraft. The tank's smooth surface reveals every imperfection, so sand it carefully before painting. Thin filters and a wash will add convincing operational stains and streaking.
