A decal sheet (wet decals) from Special Hobby with markings for a model of the postwar Czechoslovak Avia VR-1 helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a set of detail parts — the sheet holds only markings and lettering for finishing one particular historical machine in SNB service.
The Avia VR-1 was postwar Czechoslovak production of a helicopter derived from the German Focke-Achgelis Fa 223 Drache. It served with the air component of the Sbor narodni bezpecnosti (SNB), the Czechoslovak National Security Corps, and went down in history among other things as one of the first helicopters used to watch over road traffic.
Release the decals in lukewarm water and transfer them onto a smooth, glossy, degreased surface — a gloss coat of clear prevents the dulling under the decal known as silvering. A decal softener helps them settle into the detail, and at the end you protect and unify the whole with a matte or satin clear coat, depending on the look you want.
