An injection-molded plastic kit of the ocean liner R.M.S. Titanic in 1:600 scale from Revell. The set is meant to be assembled and painted and captures the characteristic silhouette of the four-funnel liner. A display stand and a decal sheet are usually included.
The R.M.S. Titanic was a British ocean liner of the White Star Line, at the time she was built one of the largest and most luxurious ships in the world. On her maiden voyage across the Atlantic in April 1912 she struck an iceberg and sank, at the cost of a great many lives. The Titanic became one of the best-known symbols of maritime history and a lastingly rewarding subject for modelers and collectors.
In 1:600 scale the ship is elegantly compact. Build the hull carefully and fill the joints so that the lines of the sides stay clean. Glue the deck structures, funnels and cranes with a thin cement and clean the small parts up with a sharp knife. The typical finish is a black and white hull with ocher funnels and black tops; masking and a fine airbrush suit the clean transitions. The model shows to advantage on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
