This plastic kit in 1:700 scale represents the modern Chinese Type 055 guided-missile destroyer. The Pre-colored edition offers parts finished in color and easy snap-fit assembly with no need for glue. The finished model measures roughly 257 mm long. The package holds rotating gun turrets and movable weapon platforms, two funnel variants for an individual finish, a shipborne Zhong-20 helicopter, metal as well as decal markings and a designed base.
The Type 055 destroyer is a large guided-missile destroyer of around 10000 tons displacement, meant for the air defense of a formation. It is one of the largest surface combatants built in Asia since the Second World War. The first ship of the class was launched in 2017, and the vessels carry extensive armament in vertical launch cells.
The pre-colored parts speed the build up, but the overall impression benefits from dressing the seams, a light panel wash and a matte clear coat. The weapon systems and the radars will stand out with careful dry-brushing of the edges. The base makes it possible to display the model without a water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
