It contains fine brass ammunition belts for machine guns of 7.62-7.92 mm and .30 and .50 inch caliber, which replace coarser plastic parts or add missing detail. It is intended for models of tanks, armored vehicles and mounted machine guns in 1:72 scale. Aber is a Polish manufacturer specializing in fine photo-etched and turned accessories.
Ammunition belts bring the area around a machine gun, an open ammunition box or a crew figure to life. The photo-etched execution faithfully captures the individual rounds and the links of the belt, which at a small scale is hard to achieve in plastic alone. The set suits German, American and Allied machine guns of the matching calibers.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors on a hard surface. The belts can be bent sensitively into a realistic sag. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or soldered. Degrease the surface before painting; a metal primer works well, followed by bringing out the cases with metallic shades and a wash.
This is a photo-etched accessory, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
