A model of the B-8M1 rocket pod for 80 mm unguided rockets, an accessory for aircraft models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The B-8M1 is a pod for unguided rockets of Soviet design. It takes the form of a cylindrical container with a cluster of tubular launch tubes for 80 mm rockets and is hung on the pylons under the wing or under the fuselage. Weapons of this kind were part of the ordinary armament of combat aircraft of Eastern design, and on a model they are clearly visible, because they hang below the lifting surface along their whole length.
The set brings the rocket pod in 1:72 scale as add-on armament for an aircraft model. It comes into its own where the kit does not hold a pod or where its plastic part is coarse; separately worked barrel openings look considerably more faithful on a model than suggested holes.
Cut the surplus material and the marks of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away carefully, so that the cylinder stays straight and the tube openings regular. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Try the mounting dry and align the axis of the pod with the longitudinal axis of the aircraft; armament hung crooked shows up on a model more than a missing detail. The tube openings come out well when they are darkened lightly after painting. The manufacturer's instructions give the recommended glue and procedure.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The manufacturer states the number of pieces in the package and the material of the parts on the packaging.
