Four castings of the CBU-89A GATOR dispenser in 1:72 scale for models of American aircraft in 1:72.
Responsibility details are not available.
The smaller of the two usual aviation scales places different demands on armament: the parts are tiny, but more of them fit on a model. Reskit therefore puts four pieces straight into the package, which is enough to occupy a whole row of racks or part of the load in a bomb bay. Anyone building a bomber will appreciate that a whole load can be put together from a single package.
The dispenser sows mines rather than fragmentation charges. Militarily that means the aircraft does not destroy the target but creates an obstacle; in modeling terms it means it suits machines carrying out tasks over the front line and deep in the rear alike. You can hang it on a ground-attack aircraft, a multirole fighter and a large bomber. The higher number of pieces also makes it possible to occupy the inboard stations, for which a two-piece package would leave nothing.
In this scale one piece measures something over three centimeters and its tail surfaces are on the edge of visibility. Work over a mat with a raised edge, so that a part that springs away does not escape across the table. Apply the glue with the tip of a pin; a drop straight from the bottle would flood the whole shape. The sanding really needs to be fine, otherwise the detail will vanish from the edges. Tweezers with flat jaws are more useful here than pointed ones, because a tiny cylinder will not spring out of them.
The munitions are supplied without paints and without a carrier aircraft.
